Strictly speaking, peas are not vegetables (like yams are). They are part of the legume family. But that didn’t stop Will I Yam from founding and being a lead member of the musical group Black Eyed Peas.

A plant dropping leaves as a “response to pain” most likely is what the plant has adapted to in order to have higher chances of survival. It’s rather mechanical than emotional, and it still can’t be linked to pain.
